OUR FRIEND DIRECTORY: Below please find a list of galleries, artists, collectives, companies and individuals who have supported our magazine and continue to do so. It is because of them (and because of you, our readers) that we remain motivated to give our best in each issue. We are not a magazine for the masses, we are not a magazine that acts as an infomercial. We are not here to take your money (or your soul). We are artists, friends, art supporters, creative minds, activists, dreamers, but over all, active members of the community, creating spaces, threading waters. Please follow our friends to their links below:
The Texas Firehouse is located in a 160 year-old historic firehouse in Long Island City, New York, just across the river from Roosevelt Island and Manhattan (best rooftop BBQ view in town). Normally a housing, studio and shop space, the Texas Firehouse is transformed for one night each month into a gallery and performance art venue. Shows are curated by Firehouse artists and guest curators, and are generally group shows put together around some curatorial theme. In addition to artwork, each show usually includes at least one performance artist(s), a band or two, and plenty of free flowing beer. 36-29 Vernon Blvd. Long Island City, New York 11106 TexasFirehouse@hotmail.com Pegasus Bugshop

Elizabeth Ave. The LAB (for installation + performance art) The LAB (for installation + performance art) is a New York based, converted storefront turned fishbowl producing 30+ fast paced performance art and installation exhibitions annually. Aimed at furious midtown foot traffic, The LAB's programming is designed to confront modern relationships between art and audience and seeks to force interaction between high energy, "outrospective" exhibitions and nearly 25,000 daily passersby. THE LAB is located on the North East corner of 47th and Lex and is a Roger Smith Collaboration in Art. Last Rites Gallery was created to offer a new home for artists that prefer to explore the darker side of their imagination. Our intent is to bring a greater appreciation to this often overlooked genre. By hitting a nerve, this work will often cause one to look inward and explore their own feelings and intense thoughts. Facing one's fears, negating puritanical taboos, and tapping into often repressed emotions is truly empowering and this is where dark art finds its strength. Last Rites Gallery offers a place to recognise this work as it relates to the individual. The uniqueness of the gallery, aside from its focus on such work, is the collaborative effort between founding director, Genevive Zacconi and Paul Booth. The fact that they are accomplished artists as well, allows for a stronger relationship with the artists we show, and a more understanding and creative approach to the overall presentation of their work. This enhances the experience for everyone visiting Last Rites Gallery. By Mario Z. Publisi, our correspondent, colleague and friend from Mexico.
